Project
History:
In an effort to clean up the area surrounding the City of Newburgh's
St. Luke's Hospital, the dilapidated Dubois Street area needed desperate
attention. Many of the street's houses were falling into disrepair
and becoming an eyesore to the community.
Challenge:
In order for a feasible solution to take effect, the necessary funding
had to be secured. The key lie in finding the right sources for
the substantial capital required.
Solution:
Joe Hucko and partners, working with the City, secured over $2.5
million to renovate 11 properties on the street. Now Dubois Street
is the jewel of the surrounding area, with its multi-family houses
restored to their original Victorian-inspired beauty.
